For
the last 12 years, I have also been a full-time tutor teaching
youngsters from the ages of 7 to 17. I believe in developing good
rapport with students and that tutoring has to be tailored, as much as
possible, to individual needs and ability. I must say I enjoy teaching
youngsters tremendously.
I
have written a dissertation on the subject of tuition for my M.Ed degree
and have distributed it to various self-help organisations and others. A
copy of my dissertation is available at The British Council Library at
Napier Road.
In
1996, I was interviewed by Berita Harian, a Singapore Malay Newspaper,
and featured in the newspaper on the subject of tuition. More recently,
on 28 March and 4 April 2002, I was featured on TV on Suriachannel in
the programme called ‘ASatu’.
Beside teaching, I am a qualified soccer coach and have been coaching
