I'm

teaching and tutoring field since 1986. I'm also a registered trainer
with the People's
Association, Singapore, conducting English, Malay & Indonesian courses
for adult learners, and

tutor their children.
On 18th January 2002, I graduated with a Master of Education degree (M.Ed) from the University of Sheffield, UK. I was in Sheffield to
attend the Congregation for Conferment of Higher Degrees or what we would call a convocation or graduation ceremony. If you'd like to see some graduation photos, feel free to

In teaching languages, I have always
taken the Communicative/Situational Approach to
language teaching. I have taught and/or I am
currently teaching English, Indonesian and Malay
languages to professionals, civil servants,
diplomats, member of parliament, business persons, grassroots leaders, foreigners,
students, retirees & homemakers at various community clubs, commercial schools & Government offices.
I always feel a great sense of personal
satisfaction and pride whenever my students are able
to communicate in the languages that I have taught them.
I was an active
grassroots leader for 20 years holding various positions in Marsiling
Grassroots Organisations, Singapore. Check out

Teaching
Approach & Techniques:
Situational-Communicative Approach will be adopted as the
learner wants a communicative ability in the target language and
wants it from the very day that he starts to
learn. This approach is suitable for those attending crash
courses of limited duration in a language of which they have no or little previous knowledge.
There will be predictions of the situations in which the
learner is likely to operate through the
target language.
Interactive teaching technique, including use of role plays, will be employed that would effect on
the learners the self-confidence and feeling of usefulness in
learning the Malay language.
